Over the past week from November 10 to November 16 2015, Russian consumer price of sugar decreased by 0.4%; from the beginning of the year total increase has made 15.2%, according to Rosstat.
The Russian government has decided to introduce food embargo against Ukraine starting from January 1, 2016, the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexey Ulyukayev has announced.
Russia may produce a record 5.04 million tons of beet sugar in 2015 against 4.44 million tons last year, says ICAR. The previous record was set in 2011, when the country has produced 5.03 million tons.
According to price monitoring by sugar.ru, for the period November 12-19, 2015 the exchange value of dollar against Russian rouble rose by 0.3% (on November 12 the rate was US$ 1=RUR 64.57; on November 19 – US$ 1=RUR 64.78). Moscow ruble price of sugar rose by 0.60 rubles/kg (+ 1.49%), Krasnodar price fell by 0.40 rubles/kg (-1.02%). Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar increased by US$ 0.007 / kg (+ 1.12%), Krasnodar price dropped by US$ 0.008 / kg (-1.32%).
Beet sugar production has made 608 000 tons in Ukraine in October 2015; from the beginning of the year - 832 000 tons of (less by 30.1% than in 2014), according to the State Statistics Service.
Belarus has finished sugar beet harvesting campaign, local media reported. Total harvest collected has made bulk over 3362 thousand tons of sugar beet. The average yield was 33.76 MT/ha, sucrose content - 16.6%. Anticipated production of beet sugar is estimated at 475 000 MT or 80 000 MT less than last year.
According to the National Statistics Committee, in the first 9 months (January-September) 2015 total exports of sugar to Kazakhstan has made 33.9 thousand tons (27.1% less than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 18 500.4 thousand. Exports to Russia have reached 211.9 thousand tons (11.9% less from 2014 level) the total value of US$ 126 649 thousand.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the average consumer price of sugar in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 55.40 soms per 1 kg in October 2015 (or RUR 51.84/kg at the current rate of CBR).
