The first million tons of sugar beet was processed at the plants of Lipetsk region with 150 thousand tons of sugar produced, according to the regional administration. In 2015/16 marketing year the region plans to collect over four million tons of sugar beet, which is half a million tons more than in previous season.
"Razguliay" has announced changes in the list of company shareholders, as well as the decision to include four members of the Group of companies "Rusagro" to the Group Management Board.Mr. Sergey Tribunsky was appointed new CEO of "Group" Razguliay". The refreshed Management Board plans to develop a strategy for further development in the next three months.
According Soyuzrossakhar figures updated on September 25, the country has harvested 11.4 million tons of sugar beet and produced over 1.4 million tons of beet sugar.
Krasnodar region has drafted and approved the development strategy for 2016-2021 for seed breeding industry branch. One part of the development plan includes construction of 4 breeding and genetic center in the region.
Sugar beet was harvested from an area of 27,800 hectares or 27.9% of the sown area by September 25, 2015 in Belarus, (in 2014. – 17 200 ha), according to information received by Sugar.Ru from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. Bulk harvest makes 749,200 tons (in 2014 - 723 300 tons) of beets; average yields are around 26 91 MT/ha (in 2014 – 42.08 MT/ha). The content of sucrose in beet makes 17.55% versus 15.87% on the same day last year.
Processing of raw cane sugar in Moldova will ruin the national sugar beet industry, - said chairman of the supervisory board of «Sudzucker Moldova» Thomas Kirchberg, commenting on the decision to process 80 thousand tons at the Glodeni sugar factory for export purposes. According to Mr. Kirchberg, the economic calculations shows that this transaction will be profitable only provided the sugar will be sold illegally inside the country.
