RUSSIA
Mr Vyacheslav Shport, Governor of Khabarovsk region, and Mr Terapol Pruksatorn, Chairman Thai company «Sutech Engineering Co., Ltd.» have signed a memorandum on the construction of a plant for the production of sugar. Sutech Engineering has its own facilities in Thailand and South-East Asia and has got interested in the Sovetskaya Gavan region. Here they intend to build a plant with the capacity of 500 thousand tons of sugar per year. Product will be delivered to Russian regions. The project value is about US$ 200 million.

According Soyuzrossakhar, the dynamics of sugar beet development in Russia looks as follows as of September 1, 2015:
- beet weight - 467 grams;
- weight of foliage -329 grams;
- sucrose content – 17.07%.
The volume of sugar beet collected has made 4,1mln. MT in Russia, including 3.7 mln MT already dispatched to sugar mills.

The launch of Erken-Shaharsky sugar factory in Karachayevo-Cherkessia is scheduled for September 8. It is anticipated that the enterprise will process at least 34.7 thousand tons of sugar beets grown locally in the Republic.
UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Ukraine has imported 961 tons of sugar (HS code 1701), as well as 5044.5 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) in January-June 2015. Exports of sugar (HS code 1701) from Ukraine have grown to over 84 000 MT in January-June; exports of other sugars has made 10.3 thousand MT; export of molasses – 89 000 MT and beet pulp (HS Code 23032) – 31 698 tons.
