RUSSIA
According to Rosstat, the production of sugar amounted to 86,700 tons in April 2015 (+ 12.8% to March). From the beginning of the year Russia has produced 340,200 tons of sugar, which is 35.8% less than in the same period of 2014.

According to the monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, Russian Federation has processed 336,400 tons of raw sugar and produced 329,700 tons of refined whites as of May 18, 2015 (- 8.2% vs. 2014). Volumes of raw sugar imports are 10% less in January-May 2015 (as at 17 May) compared to 2014. Sugar price from industrial producers has made RUR 40.78/kg in April 2015 (-1.0% from March; + 16.6% YTD). For the week of May 18 – 25, the wholesale price of sugar fell by 2.5%; retail prices – by 0.4%.

"Voronezh confectionary factory" has concluded a major contract for the supply of sugar for total value of RUR 500 million rubles with Kursk "Promsahar" LLC, which is 25% of the book value of the assets of confectionery factory.
UKRAINE
Agro holding "Mriya" (Ternopol region) has refused sowing sugar beet this year due to the inability to contact the Gut family which controls the company "T-Zukor" (Ternopol region), in order to obtain information on the operation schedule of sugar mills of the company in 2015/2016 marketing year.
KYRGYZSTAN
The Ministry of Economy has suggested to introduce import duties on white sugar originating from the territory of Ukraine, classified in EAEC by HS code 1701 99 100, at a rate of US$ 340 per ton.
AZERBAIJAN
In the 1st quarter of 2015 Azerbaijan has imported 49.9 thousand tons of raw sugar and sugar for the total value of US$ 24.5 million (decline in the volume of imports by 46.8%), reported State Statistics Committee.
