RUSSIA
According to preliminary data by Rosstat for year 2014, the Republic of Bashkortostan has produced 1 250 300 tons of sugar beet (or 70% vs. 2013 harvest). The acreage sown with sugar beet has made 50 500 ha in 2014 (in 2013 – 54 900 ha). The bulk volume of beet collected has made 1 250 300 tons (compared to 1 786 000 MT gathered in 2013) with average yields of 24.96 MT/ha (33.82 MT/ha in 2013). This season, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the acreage of sugar beet is expected to make 52 700 hectares.

Sugar beet sowing campaign in Russia is almost completed in the Southern parts and gaining momentum in the Central Chernozem (Black Soil) Area, according to ICAR. Three warm weeks in the beginning of March 2015 in European part of Russia have contributed to early start of beet sowing; at least, it was earlier than usual. Today the sowing campaign is almost finished in the South; has slowed down in the Central Chernozem Area because of bad weather and has not yet begun in the Volga-Ural and Altai regions. According to the ICAR, the ultimate acreage of sugar beet in Russia may grow from 918.2 thousand hectares in 2014 to 940-970 thousand hectares in 2015.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture information as of April 16, 2015, in some regions of the South, the North Caucasus and Central Federal Districts sugar beet was seeded on an area of 250.8 thousand ha, or 25.6% of the forecast (in 2014 the progress was 253,500 hectares).
UKRAINE
Farmers in the country have planted 155,000 hectares with sugar beet, or 56% of the forecast by April 16 (in 2014 the area planted was 302 thousand hectares). According to forecasts by Ministry of Agrarian Policy, farmers will grow sugar beet on 300,000 hectares in 2015 season.
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, farmers in Zhambyl region have started sowing sugar beet (as of today 300 hectares were planted against 10 thousand hectares planned for the season).
