Prodimex Group, the leading sugar producer in the Russian Federation, has purchased 45,000 tons of raw sugar from Brazil to create reserve stocks. Raw sugar will be processed at two enterprises in the Voronezh region - Liskinsky and Olkhovatsky sugar plants.

The “Rassvet-Tambov” company (acting in the interests of the Progress Agro group, which owns the Ust-Labinsk sugar plant) plans to acquire shares in the TambovSakharInvest company, which owns 35 thousand hectares of agricultural land, and since 2008 has been building the “Mordovian Sugar Plant” worth over 10 billion rubles. and a capacity of 1.5 thousand tons of raw material per day. In 2016, the project was completed by 80%, analysts express doubts about the economic feasibility of the new sugar plant.
