RUSSIA
According to Soyuzrossahar, as of August 16, 2021, Russia has harvested 455 thousand tons of sugar beet and 47 thousand tons of beet sugar were produced. By the end of August, it is expected to launch another seven sugar factories, making total number of factories operating in August 15. Beet sugar production in August is expected to be about 350 thousand tons. As of August 11, the development of sugar beet in Russia on average corresponds to the level of the last year. The daily gain of the root averages 5.5 grams. The weight of beetroot ranges from 282 g to 500 g, depending on the federal district.
BELARUS
Belarus expects to get a good harvest of sugar beets, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Subbotin. According to the official, out of the total volume of beet sugar produced this season, about 360 thousand tons/year will be demanded by the domestic market, and 200-260 thousand tons are planned for export.
