RUSSIA
Sugar beet crops are getting close to 159 thousand ha in Krasnodar region as of the first week of April, thus, accounting for 89% of the acreage planned, the press service of the administration of Krasnodar region reports.

The completion of sugar beet sowing campaign is scheduled for no later than April 25 in Kursk region. In 2016 the acreage of sugar beet will increase to reach 106,000 hectares, according to the AIC Board of Kursk region.

According to figures by the Ministry of Agriculture dated April 8, 2016, Russia has sown sugar beet on an area of 190,600 hectares or 18% of the forecast (in 2015 season – 173.4 thousand hectares by same date).

According to the monitoring report by the Ministry of Agriculture, the wholesale price of sugar has decreased by 2%, retail price – by 0.5% in the period from March 29 to April 4, 2016.

The Arbitration Court of the Tambov region has registered a claim of "Private security organization "Defender" LLC to recognize a bankrupt "Tambov Sugar Company" LLC ("TSK" LLC), a leading company for construction of a sugar factory in the Mordovia region in the last eight years.
UKRAINE
According to the State Service Statistics report for March 2016, the consumer prices for sugar in the country have decreased by 0.5%; from the beginning of the year the consumer prices for sugar have not changed in Ukraine.
BELARUS
Farmers in the Republic of Belarus have sown 11.47 thousand hectares with sugar beet (11.61% of the plan) as of April 11, 2016, according to Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus.
