RUSSIA

"Rusagro" plans to spend on investments the RUR15-20 billion, in 2016, said CEO Maxim Basov. This includes the purchase of three sugar plants in Orel and Kursk regions, as well as 86 thousand hectares of land owned by "Razgulay". Also implemented the project on modernization of Znamensky sugar plant in the Tambov region - construction of new shop of pulp drying and desugarization molasses. The amount of investment is estimated in RUR5 billion, implement the project is planned in two years. It is expected that plant capacity will be increased from 6 to 8 thousand tons of sugar per day.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in Russia sugar beet was planted at an area of 161 500 hectares, which made 15.2% of the forecast (in 2015 – 170 700 hectares) by April 7, 2016.

 

UKRAINE

Ukrainian farmers have planted 132 thousand hectares with sugar beet (49% of the forecast), by April 7. In Vinnytsia region sugar beet was sown at 42 thousand hectares (83.9%), in Ternopil region – at 11.9 thousand hectares (70%).

Since the beginning of 2016, as of April 5, the EU countries by 67% have used (in the volume of 20.1 thousand MT) the quota for duty-free supply of sugar to Ukraine (quota total – 30 thousand MT).

KYRGYZSTAN

In the Chui region will be sown 10 600 hectares of sugar beet, it's 2 times more than last year, said Deputy Minister of agriculture and melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkinbek Choduev.
