Company "Dobrynya" LLC, which is a major sugar producer for the French company Sucden, has escaped suspension of activity for the illegal dumping of industrial waste, and has got off with a fine totaling RUR 150 thousand.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 64,800 hectares or 6.1% of the forecast by April 4, 2016 (in 2015 the progress was 160.1 thousand hectares).

"Razgulyay" has announced the termination of control over 12 organizations. The list includes three sugar plants that are being acquired by "RusAgro" in the framework of the sugar business expansion, namely, "Sugar Plant" Otradinsky" (100%), OJSC "Krivets-sugar" (97.25%) and ZAO "Kshensky Sugar Refinery" (100%) and JSC "Chishminsky sugar factory" (the buyer and the amount of the transaction is not disclosed).

Belgorod Sugar Plant OAO "Valuykisahar" (part of "RusAgro") has increased net profit to RUR 2 billion in 2015 season, which is 18.5 times (under RAS) compared to 2014 year, according to company statement.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated April 5, 2016, total 11 vessels have been nominated to carry 394 800 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 178 800 MT from 5 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
The six regions of Ukraine have seeded sugar beet at 81.1 thousand hectares by April 4, according to Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Cost of production of sugar beet has reached UAH 581/MT in 2015 in Ukraine (or around RUR 1540/MT at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia), which is 59.4% more than in 2014, according to the State Statistical Service.

“Astarta-Kyiv” company has started spring sowing campaign. It is expected that sugar beet will occupy the largest area among other crops (up to 45 thousand ha, which up by 32% compared to beet acreage in 2015).
