RUSSIA
Following the resumption of operation and in preparation for the production season 2016 the LLC "Timashevsky sugar factory" (Krasnodar region) has announced vacancies for the positions of chief engineer and chief technologist.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was planted at an area of 16 100 hectares (1.5% of the forecast) in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Chechnya and Rostov regions by March 31, 2016.
UKRAINE
"Agroprodservis" company has started sugar beet sowing campaign at the total area of nearly 4 000 hectares.

The average price for sugar equalled UAH 14.71/kg (or RUR 38.02/kg at the current rate of the CBR) as of March 21, 2016, further on the price has decreased to UAH 14.55/kg (RUR 37.61/kg) by March 30, according to State Statistics Service of Ukraine by 30 March.

By the end of week March 23-30 the decline of sugar prices has suspended. Stabilization of prices is primarily caused by the Agrarian Fund that has ceased commodity interventions in the sugar market and lower demand for sugar.

According to the Statistics Agency, the national consumer prices for sugar have increased by 1.6% in March 2016; from the beginning of the year the growth has made 10.2%.
