RUSSIA
In Russia, there are five factories for the preparation of sugar beet seeds, with production capacity which can provide quality seeds in its entirety for farmers of the country, said the Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Russia has sown sugar beet on an area of 14 200 hectares by March 29, 2016. The sugar beet is seeded in Krasnodar region, the Republic of Chechnya and Rostov region. In the Krasnodar region for sugar beet will employ about 180 thousand hectares in 2016, which is by 23 thousand hectares more than in 2015, said the head of the region Veniamin Kondratyev.

Bankruptcy Trustee of JSC "Pavlovsky Sugar Plant" (Krasnodar region) has signed a contract of sale of the property complex of the enterprise with JSC “Firm "Agrocomplex name N. Tkachev" at the price of RUB1.2 billion.

The government of the Nizhniy Novgorod region have actually decided on a new investor interested in buying “Sergachskij sugar plant”. Currently plant is in the seasonal downtime, which will last until March 31.
UKRAINE
Agricultural holding "Astarta" has summed up the results of 2015. Sugar segment revenue amounted to EUR151 million, or 48% of consolidated revenues. Volumes of sugar sales increased by 11% to 363 thousand tones including record high exports for the Company of 34 thousand tones. In 2015, the Company has reduced the production of sugar by 24% – to 355 thousand tons, in response to the decline in consumption in the domestic market.
KAZAKHSTAN
According to customs declarations of FCS, Kazakhstan has exported 50.3 tons of sugar (HS 1701), and 530.6 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) to countries outside the Customs Union, in January-February 2016. Exports of sugar-containing products also had insignificant volumes. Exports of sugar confectionery (HS code 1704) amounted to 799.7 thousand tons, and 1095.5 tons of water and sugar (HS code 2202).
Sugar imports has made 30.5 thousand tons, including 18.6 thousand tons of raw sugar (HS 170114), and 11.9 thousand tons of white sugar (HS 170199). Imports of other sugar-containing products had insignificant volumes. Imports of other sugars (HS code 1702) amounted to 72.8 tons, beet pulp (HS code 1703) – 0.1 tones, sugar confectionery (HS code 1704) – 1936.5 tones, and 1054.9 tons of water and sugar (HS code 2202).
