RUSSIA

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reports, acreage sown with sugar beet in Krasnodar region and Chechnya has made 4 100 and 600 ha respectively by March 21, 2016.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated March 22, 2016, total 9 vessels have been nominated to carry 309 800 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 133 500 MT from 4 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

The volume of refined sugar production has made 27 500 MT in February 2016 in Russia (down by 67.7% compared to February 2015), according to the press service of Rosstat.

 

UKRAINE

In February Ukraine has exported of sugar for the total value of US$ 9.696 million; value of imports has made US$ 1.403 million, reports the State Fiscal Service. Exports of sugar in February were performed mostly to Romania (worth US$ 6.869 million). In January and February the total value of exports has made US$ 18,633,000, imports – US$ 13.251 million.

In 2015 season farmers in Volyn region have decreased the manufacture of sugar beets for industrial processing by 35% (to make final 420 000 tons). The reason lies in reduction of crop acreage and lower field yields dropping by 10.6%.
