Russian consumer prices for sugar increased by 0.4% in the period February 9 to 15, 2016, while from the beginning of the year - by 4.2%, according to Rosstat.

According to the data of price monitoring by sugar.ru in the period February 11-18, 2016, the US dollar exchange rate dropped to 1.5% to Russian ruble (on Feb 11 US$ 1=RUR 79.07; 18.02 US$ 1=RUR 77.85). And price of sugar has continued to fall. Moscow ruble price of sugar fell by RUR 0.80/kg (-1.77%), Krasnodar price fell by RUR 1.00/kg (-2.30%). US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by US$ 0.001/kg (-0.17%) in Moscow; in Krasnodar the price has dropped by US$ 0.004/kg (- 0.73%).

Shareholders of agricultural holding "Razguliay" approved the sale of assets for total value of RUR 6.7 billion. The final cost of the assets for sale will be determined on the basis of the report of an independent evaluator. Subject to alienation are the following enterprises:
- 100% of CJSC "Sugar Plant "Alexeevskaya", LLC "Alekseevka-agroinvest" with a minimum cost of 60 million rubles and the debt of 1.297 billion rubles;
- 100% of JSC "Sugar Mill Bolshevik", LLC "Graivoron-agroinvest» and «Pochaiv-agroinvest" (share makes 51%) - 219 million rubles;
- JSC "Sugar Mill Lgovskiy", LLC "Lgovagroinvest", JSC "KHP Lgovskiy", JSC "Lgovskiy ICC" for total value of RUR 201 million;
- JSC "Krivets-sugar", LLC "Kshenagro", JSC "Kshensky Sugar Factory" together with Orel based JSC "Sugar Plant "Otradinsky"and LLC "Otradaagroinvest" will cost 922 million rubles.

In 2016 Tatarstan plans to collect 2.5 million MT of sugar beets, the head of the republican Ministry of Agriculture has announced.

According to forecasts by Mr. Peter Chekmarev, head of Agriculture Department at the Russian Ministry, in 2016 sugar beet it is planned to occupy up to 1.1 million hectares.
KAZAKHSTAN
Mr. Amandyk Batalov, akim (governor) of Almaty region, has told that sugar beet crops will occupy an area of over 6 000 hectares in Almaty region, and the average yields will increase to 35 MT/ha in 2016 season.
