RUSSIA
Consumer prices for sugar have increased by 1.2% in Russia in the period January 26 – February 1, 2016; from the beginning of 2016 the growth has made 3.4%, according to Rosstat.

From the beginning of sugar beet processing season Lipetsk region has processed 4.2 million tons of sugar beet with an average sugar content of 18.7% and has produced 643 thousand tons of sugar (up by 200 thousand tons compared to previous year), according to the Administration of the region.

According to the regional price monitoring data by sugar.ru for the period January 28 – February 04, 2016, the dollar exchange rate increased by 0.3% (on Jan 28 – RUR 79.00/$, on Feb 04 – RUR 79.26/$). Moscow ruble price of sugar dropped by RUR 1.00/kg (-2.08%), Krasnodar price decreased by RUR 1.30/kg (-2.80%). US dollar equivalent price in Moscow decreased by US$ 0.015/kg (-2.47%), in Krasnodar the price has dropped by US$ 0.019/kg (-3.23%).
UKRAINE
Ukraine has solved the problem of the confectionery products export contenting nuts to the European Union. The first deliveries of Ukrainian sweets have already passed customs clearance procedures and crossed the border, according to the Ministry of European Integration. According to the association "Ukrkondprom" (the National Confectionery Association) the potential confectionery exports, containing in its composition 20% or more of peanuts or pistachios or hazelnuts, from Ukraine to the EU may reach annual as much as 10 000 tons.

Company "Astarta" has reduced the production of sugar by 31% in 2015 – down to 355 thousand tons compared to the previous season, and exported about 30 thousand tons of sugar.
