RUSSIA

Today, on 26 January 2016, the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia celebrates 20 years. The Sugar.Ru team congratulates sugar market colleagues on the jubilee and wishes Soyuzrossahar continuing effective representation of the Russian sugar industry interests.

Production of refined beet sugar in Russia has made 0.7 million tons in December 2015, according to Rosstat. Total annual volume of beet sugar produced in Russia in 2015 has reached 5.1 million tons (up by 11.9% compared to 2014 volume).

The Board of Directors of Chishminsky sugar factory (owned by "Razgulyay") has decided to prematurely terminate the powers of the Director General Mr Igor Nasonov. The election of a new C.E.O. was not reported. "Razgulyay" group considers selling out its stake of the factory. The issue will be delegated to the extraordinary session of company shareholders scheduled for February 16.

AgroHolding "Kuban" and the company "Ingosstrakh ONDD Credit Insurance" have concluded a general agreement of insurance commercial (trade) loans from the risk of long-term delinquencies and bankruptcies of buyers.

The company "Sucden" has increased the volume of sugar beet processed by 38% in the season 2015/16 to reach over 2.4 million tons. The volume of sugar production by Sucden has reached 383 thousand tons.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated January 26, 2016, total 48 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 578 800 MT of raw cane sugar in 2015/2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 393 800 MT from 43 vessels, based on sugar.ru data.

KYRGYZSTAN

According Statcom of Kyrgyz Republic, the average consumer price of sugar in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 56.77 Kyrgyz soms per 1 kg in December 2015 (or RUR 58.16 kg at the current rate of CBR).

UKRAINE

According to the Ukrainian Statcom, the harvested area of sugar beet was 236.9 thousand hectares in 2015, which is 93.3 thousand hectares (28.3%) less than it was in 2014. Bulk harvest of sugar beet amounted to 10,275.4 thousand tons in 2015 (less by 5 458 700 MT compared to volume collected in 2014). The average yield amounted to 43.37 MT from hectare (in 2014 – 47.65 MT/ha).
