RUSSIA

Consumer prices of sugar have increased by 0.8% in Russia in the period January 12 – 18, 2016; from the beginning of the year the growth has made 1.2%, according to Rosstat.

Ulyanovsk region plans to sow 12,000 hectares with sugar beet in 2016 season, the regional governor has announced.

According to price monitoring by sugar.ru in the period from January 14-21, 2016, the Central Bank exchange rate of dollar rose by 4.0% (the value of US$ 1 was RUR 76.43 on Jan 14 and RUR 79.46 on Jan 21, while the stock exchange has conquered the level of RUR 85/$). Moscow ruble price of sugar increased by 1.13 rubles/kg (+2.43%), Krasnodar price grew by RUR 0.80/kg (+1.77%). Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by US$ 0.009/kg (-1.48%), Krasnodar price dropped by US$ 0.012/kg (-2.03%).

 
UKRAINE

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft decree on the regulation of the production of sugar and sugar beet in the 2016/17 MY. The project set the maximum volume of the quota of sugar supply to the domestic market (excluding the Crimea and Sevastopol) in the amount of 1 670 thousand tons.

The minimum price for sugar beet and sugar within quotas are approved at the level of UAH 616.99 and UAH 9078.87 per 1 ton respectively (excluding VAT).
KYRGYZSTAN

According StatCom of Kyrgyzstan, the average price of sugar was KGS 56.77/kg in December 2015, which was 7% higher than in December 2014.
