Sugar news from Russia and CIS countries, Jan 15, 2016

According to the Federal Customs Service, Russia has imported 506.1 thousand tons of raw sugar for the total value of US$ 190.8 million in January-November 2015, which is 9.2% less than in 2014.
Imports of white sugar to Russia in January-November 2015 have made 358.5 thousand tons; total value makes US$ 147 million (FCS includes the estimated number of imports from the CU in statistics of white sugar imports – Sugar.Ru). Imports of sugar from non-CIS countries has made total US$ 17.9 mln in December 2015

 
The average consumer price for sugar has increased by 0.3% in Armenia, in December 2015, the National Statistical Service of RA reported.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan forecasts an increase of sugar beet acreage in Chui province in 2016 from current 5.3 thousand hectares (2015) to 10 thousand hectares in the coming season.
According to information from the National Statistical Committee, consumer prices for sugar increased by 1.6% in December 2015 and from the beginning of 2015 – by 7.5%.
According to the National Statistical Committee, bulk harvest of sugar beet in 2015 has amounted to 3.3 mln tons with an average yield of 33.0 MT per hectare (in 2014 – 46.3 MT/ha).
In 2015 season Ukraine has used 98.9% of a quota for duty-free sugar exports to the EU (20.07 tons).
