According to the monitoring data by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the price of sugar for the week December 15-21 has not changed; the retail price has increased by 0.2%. In January-November 2015 the production of sugar has made 5 082.4 thousand tons, which is 5% more than during the same period in 2014. Volumes of raw sugar import is 11.9% less in January-December 6, 2015 compared to the same period of 2014.
According to the Lipetsk regional administration, the regional sugar industry has produced a record amount of sugar - 600 thousand MT in 2015 Marketing year (160 000 tons more than in 2014). Total volume of sugar beet processed has made 3.9 mln MT; average regional sucrose content makes 18.71%. Farmers have collected more than 4.1 million tons of sugar beet. From the beginning of the year the region has produced 793 300 tons of sugar, including 174.9 thousand MT produced out of imported raws.
According to the analysis of FCS customs declarations conducted by Sugar.Ru, Russia imported 10 400 MT of raw sugar from countries outside the Customs Union in November 2015. After 11 months the total import of raw sugar to Russia has reached 262 000 MT (in 2014 – 416 000 tons; in 2013 - 434.300 tons). The major suppliers of raw to Russia were Cuba (51.44%) and Brazil (42.37%) in the period January - November 2015. The largest importers of raw sugar are companies "Primorsky Sugar" (34.93%) and OOO "SDI" (29.82%) in the first 11 months of the year.
Agricultural enterprises (excluding those in the Crimea and Sevastopol) the sugar traded sugar at an average of UAH 9016.6 / t without VAT in November, (in October - UAH 8500.9 / t), the State Statistics Service reports.
SE "Ivankovskoye sugar factory" was obliged by the court to pay 6 million 240 thousand UAH of debts and penalties in favour of "Skhidkontrakt" for under delivered sugar in 2015.
The country has produced 1.30 million tons of sugar (27% less than 2014 MY) in September-November of current MY, according to the papers issued by "Economic discussion club". Experts of the Club estimate the domestic consumption of sugar in Ukraine at 416 thousand tons for three months of 2015; the national sugar reserves make 1.38 million tons on December 1, 2015; the assessment of beet sugar production in 2015/2016 MY is marked at 1.45 million tons.
