Tatarstan will collect more than 2 million tons of sugar beet and will produce about 250 000 tons sugar in 2015 (in 2014 - 170 000 tons), according to Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan.
Chain stores "Pyaterochka" has paid a fine of RUR 100 000 for the "unjustified" increase in sugar prices in Yekaterinburg stores in January this year, according to the Federal Antimonopoly Service in Sverdlovsk region.
According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated December 22, 2015, total 45 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 462 684 MT of raw cane sugar in 2015 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 166 050 MT from 36 vessels, based on sugar.ru data.
According to figures for the period January-October 2015 issued by the National Statistics Committee, the exports of sugar to Kazakhstan have made 37.4 thousand tons (25.5% less than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 20 295 900; while exports to Russia have reached 241.4 thousand tons (7% less than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 142 706 600.
According to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the price of sugar in the country has increased by 2.84 Kyrgyz Soms per kilogram (5.6%) in the period December 30, 2014 to December 17, 2015, starting from 50.91 to reach 53.75 Kyrgyz Soms.
