The Russian consumer price of sugar fell by 0.4% in the period from December 1 to December 7 2015, according to Rosstat. From the beginning of the year the consumer price of sugar rose by 13.4%.
According to price monitoring by sugar.ru, in the period Dec 03 – 10, 2015 the value of dollar at exchange rate grew by 3.7% (on Dec 03 US$ 1 = RUR 66.74; on Dec 10 – US$ 1 = RUR 69.20) which caused growth of sugar prices. Moscow ruble price of sugar added 1.10 rubles/Kg (+ 2.68%), Krasnodar price increased by 1.10 rub/Kg (+2.78%). Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by $ 0.006/kg (-0.97%), Krasnodar price has dropped by $ 0.005/kg (-0.84%).
Sugar factories will produce about 1.4 million tons of sugar in Ukraine in 2015, which, taking into account last year's transitional stocks (around 0.5 million tons) will fully meet the domestic needs (estimated 1.6 million tons) and will form sufficient transitional balances of 0.3 million tons by end of the period, according to the Economic Development Ministry.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the volume of public intervention fund in the 2015/16 marketing period, which will, in particular, make total 85.1 thousand tons of beet sugar among other food commodities.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the consumer price for sugar has increased by 0.8% in November 2015 and from the beginning of the year - by 5.8%.
