According to official statistics, consumer prices for sugar in Russia decreased by 2.3% in November 2015; from the beginning of the year the growth of consumer prices of sugar in the country amounted to 13.9%.
In 2016 the area sown with sugar beet will reach 51.6 thousand hectares in Bashkiria, the republican Ministry of Agriculture forecasts.
According to the Federal Customs Service, in January-October 2015 Russia imported 495,600 tons of raw sugar (11% less than in 2014), the import of white sugar amounted to 326,300 tons, totalling value US$ 131.2 million.
According to railway cargo monitoring by Sugar.Ru for 11 months of 2015 Russia has imported 241,400 tons of white sugar, 93.8% of which is supplied Belarus (226,300 tons).

According to the "BelSahar" juice extracting season continues at the last two sugar plants – Gorodeya and Skidelsky as of December 4, 2015. Total volume processed makes 2 812.0 thousand tons of sugar beet (in 2014 - 2,796,200 tons), out of which 380.0 thousand tons of white sugar produced (378,800 tons in 2014).
According to the State Statistics Service, in January-October 2015 the volume of total sales of sugar in the country (excluding the Crimea and Sevastopol) has made UAH 9.0271 billion (excluding VAT and excise tax); export volume of trade has reached UAH 87 mln (1% of total trade volume).
According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, Tajikistan was supplied with 10,400 tons of white sugar in 11 months of 2015 delivered by rail transit Russian Federation. The main suppliers are Belarus (4.7 thousand tons) and Slovakia (2.5 thousand tons).
