Russian, Kazakh and Ukrainian sugar news, Aug 28, 2015

The sugar beet processing in the Krasnodar region is performed at 14 plants. From the beginning of the season they have processed over 1.8 million tons of sugar beet and have produced 244 thousand tons of sugar and 54 tons of dried pulp.

"Prodimex" plans to invest about RUR 2 billion in development of its sugar business department and has launched implementation of the investment program for the construction and modernization of capital places of storage of sugar beet, scheduled for three-year, said deputy general director of group Vadim Eryzhensky.

UKRAINE

According to Nicholas Yarchuk, the director of "Ukrtsukor", abolishing regulation level of minimum prices for sugar will allow producers to sell surplus production cheaper, and the price situation for consumers will be not affected. At the same time, he said in 2015/2016 Marketing Year (September-August) Ukraine is expected underproduction of sugar of around 1.1-1.2 million tons, compared to 2.1 million tons last Marketing Year.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, from the beginning of the year and as of August 28, 2015, total volume of 160 thousand MT of white sugar was delivered to Kazakhstan by rail transit Russia. Countries of EAEC have supplied the following: Belarus - 40 000 MT, Russia - 2 000 MT. Major supplier of sugar to Kazakhstan is Moldova – 54 700 MT (of which 1 000 MT of sugar is likely of Romanian origin).
