RUSSIA
The harvest season of sugar beet has started in Altai Territory. In total sugar beet acreage harvested by report date makes 517 hectares. The average yield is 30.5 tons from hectare.

According to the monitoring data by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia as of August 24, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 10,500 ha (1% of the area sown). Collected 386,700 tons of beets at average yield of 37.01 MT/ha. The volume of sugar beet processed makes 1 181 300 tons with 143,600 tons of sugar produced. The wholesale price of sugar fell by 2.0% for the week; retail price has increased by 1.2%. In the period January-July 2015 the production of sugar has made 638,900 tons.

According to the information from the administration of Belgorod region, sugar beet was harvested from the 6% of the acreage (3 707 ha) by August 24; 92,500 tons of beets delivered to sugar plants; the average yield makes 33.9 MT/ha.

"Razguliay" group has launched harvesting season. In the new season the Group "Razguliay" plans to operate 8 out of 10 sugar mills, including resuming processing at "Krivets" sugar plant, whereas JSC "Sugar Mill" Tikhoretsk" will maintain production activities on loan. This year the total area planted with sugar beet by agribusinesses holding exceeds 47 thousand hectares; it is planned to collect about 1.9 million tons of crop, which is comparable to the volumes last year.
UKRAINE
Ukraine exported over 100 thousand tons of sugar beet since the beginning of 2014/2015 marketing year, including 20 thousand tons to the European Union, and even 5 thousand tons to Russia, which is almost 5 times higher than in previous season, said the chairman "Ukrtsukor" Nikolai Yarchuk.

According to his forecasts, Ukraine can produce 1.1-1.2 million tons of sugar beet in the new 2015/2016 marketing year. Low volume is explained by drought. In the first half 2015 the agricultural enterprises have traded 503.6 thousand tons of sugar, up by 46.2%, or 159,100 tons more than in the same period of 2014, reported the State Statistics Service.
KYRGYZSTAN
The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan suggests introduction of a customs duty at the rate of US$ 340/MT in order to harmonize the trade regime of the EAEC for imports of white sugar arriving from the Ukraine to the territory of the republic.
CUSTOMS UNION
The consumer price index for sugar in July 2015 (compared to previous month of June) has made 100.5% in the Republic of Belarus; 101.4% in Russia and 100.2% in Kazakhstan.
MOLDOVA
The Minister of Agriculture of Moldova, Mr Ion Sula, admits higher sugar prices, caused by poor harvest of sugar beet, which is expected to be three times less than last year.
