RUSSIA

According to the monitoring data by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the country has processed 569.1 thousand tons of raw sugar and produced 557.7 thousand tons of refined commodity (which is less by 3.9% than in 2014) as of July 27, 2015. Volumes of import of raw sugar in January-July 2015 (as of July 25) are by 8.1% less than in 2014. During the week from July 28 to August 3, the wholesale price of sugar has increased by 0.7%, retail - by 1.4%.

Chechen sugar factory is preparing to receive the first batch of sugar beet harvested this year. Total area of the crop planted this season makes 4,050 hectares of sugar beet. Last year, the farmers of the republic have collected 42 thousand tons of sugar beet, which facilitated production of 3,400 tons of sugar.

Rospotrebnadzor1 suggest start to administer and adjust the content of salt and sugar in food commodities supplied to the Russian market.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the Kazakhstan National Statistics Agency, the consumer prices for sugar in Kazakhstan have increased by 0.2% in July 2015 (compared to June 2014), but from the beginning of the year the total decrease has made 8.4%.
