RUSSIA

According to "Kubansaharprom", 2 sugar mills in Krasnodar region – Gulkevichy and Novokubansky – have started juice extraction season. By July 30, 2015 total 14.4 thousand tons of sugar beet was received, out of them 5.5 thousand tons processed and 108 tons of refined sugar produced for sale.

Russia has produced 19.5% less sugar in the first half of 2015 compared to the corresponding period last year, including made of cane in the solid state – less by 2%. Total imports of raw sugar have decreased by 19.4% in January-June 2015 than during the corresponding period last year, according to Ministry of Economic Development.

 

UKRAINE

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the sugar beet acreage has made total 239 thousand hectares in 2015 and has decreased by 95 thousand hectares compared to previous year.

According to forecasts by "UkrAgroConsult" it will lead to a reduction of sugar production to a level of 1.3-1.4 million tons (vs. 2-2.1 million tons produced in 2014).

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the national Kazakh Customs Control Committee, Kazakhstan has imported 8684 tons of sugar confectionery (HS code 1704) in January-June 2015, which is 79.1% more than in 2014. Imports of sugar confectionery from CIS countries amounted to about 6951 tons. Kazakhstan has exported 2358 tons of sugar confectionery (HS code 1704) in January-June 2015; the bulk of exports went to the CIS countries – 1658 tons.

ARMENIA

Armenia has imported 30.2 thousand tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) for the total value of US$ 12 225 thousand in June 2015, according to the National Statistical Service
