RUSSIA

According to the monitoring data by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia for January – July 13, 2015, the national sugar industry has processed 558.3 thousand tons of raw sugar and has produced 547,200 tons of sugar (less by 3.4% than in 2014). Volumes of raw sugar import in January-July 2015 (as of 12 July) have dropped by 9.7% compared to 2014. The price of sugar made of canes from industrial producers was RUR 35.91/kg in June 2015, a decrease by 1,0% over the month. From the beginning of this year the price has increased by 5.2%. For the week July 13 - 20, the wholesale price of sugar has increased by 3.7%, retail price - by 0.1%.

According to rail cargo statistics by Sugar.Ru, the Russian sugar factories have dispatched 15 400 tons of beet molasses by rail in the first half of 2015. Exports have made 1 585 tons (1 099 tons to Azerbaijan and 486 tons to Lithuania).

UKRAINE

The Supreme Rada has generally approved the law aimed to improve the administration of value added tax. This happens after seizing all the articles that abolish preferential tax with value added tax farmers.

The protocol of cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan in the agricultural sector was signed on July 16, 2015. According to Alexei Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the sugar industry has good prospects for cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
