RUSSIA
NCSP (Novorossiysk) reports, the volume of sugar moved in the seaport in January-June has made 583.5 thousand tons, which is less 86.5 thousand tons or 12.9% compared to previous year.

Restricting advertising of sweets as stipulated by the draft of amendments to the law on advertising, would reduce competition in the confectionery market and make it more difficult to promote new brands, experts from the Centre for Research on the confectionery market warn. Amendments to the law on advertising include, inter alia, restrictions on advertising of products with high sugar content.

The criterion mentioned covers practically any confectionery product. The draft of law amendments was submitted to the Duma in early July.

BELARUS
According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, the production of sugar in the country has made 3.1 thousand tons in June 2015. In January-June 2015 the industrial sugar production in the Republic of Belarus has grown to reach 176,500 tons, which is less by 25.9% than the same indicator in 2014.
