RUSSIA

Russian farmers are asked to extend the list of products that fall under food embargo. The ban may be applied to some types of confectionery, in particular chocolate, Sergey Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, has told.

Production of sugar to Russia increased by 73.4% in May 2015, compared to April and has made total 150 thousand tons, the Federal State Statistics Service reports. From the beginning of the year Russia has produced 490.2 thousand tons of sugar, which is 21.4% less than in the same period of 2014.

 

AZERBAIJAN

Azerbaijan has imported 77.2 thousand tons of raw sugar and sugar in January-April 2015 (the decline of import volume by 30.4% vs. 2014) for the total value of US$  37 328 700.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, total exports of sugar from the Republic of Belarus to Kazakhstan and Russia have reached 126.23 thousand tons in 4 months of 2015 (January- April). Sugar exports to Kazakhstan have amounted to 17 530 tons (24% more than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 9 641 600; to Russia – 108 700 tons (17.2% less than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 64 880.2 thousand dollars.

According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, from the beginning of 2015 June 18, Belarus has delivered 38,600 tons of white sugar transit Russia. The main recipient is Kazakhstan – 27 500 tons. Belarus has also made itself a transit country for 3600 tons of European sugar.

MOLDOVA

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova, consumer prices for sugar increased by 0.7% in May 2015. From the beginning of the year the consumer prices have increased by 9.8%.
