"Prodimex" may become one of the shareholders of Mordovsky sugar factory (Tambov region), which will facilitate the completion of its construction, said the Governor of Tambov region Oleg Betin.

Construction of the plant was announced six years ago. The volume of investments is about RUR 10 billion. Launch of the enterprise was announced for several years running, but until now the plant is not started. The new plant is designed to process 12 000 tons of sugar beet and produce 1 500 tons of raw sugar per day.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation, in several regions of the South, the North Caucasus and Central Federal Districts the area planted with sugar beet has made 160 100 ha by April 3, or 16.3% of the forecast (in 2014 the progress was 86 400 ha).

UKRAINE
According to the monitoring of prices by the Ministry of Economic Development, the average consumer price of sugar in Ukraine has decreased by 9.9% to make UAH 12.69/kg as of March 30, 2015 as compared to UAH 14.09/kg on March 20, 2015.
