RUSSIA

 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, farmers in Krasnodar, Stavropol and Kursk regions continue sugar beet sowing; total acreage sown has reached 58,900 hectares as of March 26, 2015.

In Lipetsk the regional administration has discussed the opportunities to launch sugar beet seeds production in Lebedyansky District this year's.

 

UKRAUNE

 

Agricultural enterprises of all forms of property in Ukraine (excluding Crimea and Sevastopol), sold sugar at an average of UAH 7187.9/MT excl. VAT in February 2015 (in January – at UAH 6100.7/ton).

According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine has imported 103.7 tons of sugar (HS code 1701) and 673.2 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) in January 2015.

Seven regions of Ukraine began sowing sugar beet, total acreage planted has made 16 thousand hectares as of March 26 (which makes 5% of the forecast; in 2014 the progress was 63 thousand ha), reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy. "Ukrsahar" forecasts the acreage under sugar beet to make 230-240 thousand hectares; the Ministry of Agrarian Policy – 300 thousand hectares.
