RUSSIA

Over the past week, from March 17 to March 23, 2015, consumer prices for sugar in Russia have decreased by 1.1%, according to Rosstat. From the beginning of the year the consumer price of sugar has added 17.2%.

According to the governor of Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, farmers in Stavropol region have performed sowing of sugar beet by 7% of planned acreage.

Sucden will not take part in the construction of a sugar factory in Rostov region, said the financial director of the Russian company's business Gleb Tikhomirov, because the customer does not have funds for the project. Client of the project is “International Sugar Corporation” (“Mezhdunarodnaya Sakharnaya Korporatsiya”).

According to price monitoring sugar.ru for the period from 03.19.2015 to 26.03.2015 the dollar rate of exchange has dropped by 6.5% against Russian Rouble (on March 19 the rate was US$ 1=RUR 61.35; on March 26 - US$ 1=RUR 57.39). Despite the significant strengthening of the national currency, sugar prices continue to grow throughout Russia. Moscow price of sugar rose by RUR 1.50/kg (+ 3.68%), Krasnodar price rose by RUR 1.30/kg (+ 3.29%). Moscow US dollar equivalent of sugar price rose by US$ 0.072/kg (+ 10.83%), Krasnodar price grew by US$ 0.067/kg (+ 10.40%).

UKRAINE

According to the administration of Vinnitsa region sugar beet farmers plan to sow the area of ​​54 thousand hectares with sugar beet in 2015, which will provide load for at least 9 sugar factories. Last year, sugar mills in Vinnitsa have produced nearly 431 thousand tons of sugar, which is the best indicator in Ukraine.

TURKMENISTAN

According to "TurkmenInform" news dated March 23, farmers in the Balkan and Mary provinces have completed the sugar beet harvest, delivering about 224 thousand tons of crops to the state procurement. It is planned to produce 11 thousand tons of sugar out of the harvest collected.

BELARUS

Stocks of sugar have made 230,100 tons by 1 March 2015, which is 12% less than it was as of February 1, 2015, according to the National Statistics Committee.

KYRGYZSTAN

According to the National Statistics Committee, the consumer prices of sugar have decreased by 0.9% in February 2015.
