RUSSIA
X5 Retail Group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel chain of stores; part of the Alfa Group consortium) claimed that suppliers increase prices for socially important goods, by 10% for sugar and by 5% for cereals in particular. The claim was made during a meeting of retailers and manufacturers with representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The deputy head of the FAS Andrei Tsarikovsky promised that the application from the X5 Retail Group will be considered by the agency.
KAZAKHSTAN
Kazakhstan introduces a temporary ban on the export from the country of a number of food products, including sugar, according to a joint order of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
