RUSSIA
The sugar beet processing season is over with record figures in the Altai Territory, the regional administration reports. Cheremnovsky sugar factory – the only enterprise in the Altai Territory for the processing of sugar beets –completed the processing of sugar beets from the 2019 harvest on March 14. Out of the 1,202.8 thousand tons of sugar beets received for processing, the plant produced 189.08 thousand tons of sugar, which is 35.8% higher than the production volume in the season 2018-2019.

LLC Agrosnabsahar (the legal entity of the site of the Yelets sugar factory of the Lipetsk group of companies Trio and the French company Sucden) filed an appeal against the decision to recover from it 1.12 billion rubles in favor of the agricultural holding Rusagro owned by Vadim Moshkovich. The complaint has not yet been accepted for legal proceedings.
KAZAKHSTAN
Saparkhan Omarov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has announced plans to modernize existing sugar factories and put into operation 2 new sugar factories in Zhambyl and Pavlodar regions with a total production capacity of 216 thousand tons of sugar per year

The government introduces temporary state regulation of prices for a period of not more than 90 calendar days for certain types of socially significant goods, including sugar.
