RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was collected from the area of 79 100 ha, or 7.1% of the crop area as of August 29, 2016. The volume harvested makes 3.4 million tons with average yield of 43.01 MT/ha (in 2015 – 40.83 MT/ha).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated August 30, 2016, total 32 vessels have been nominated to carry 1093900 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 901150 MT from 26 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

According to the analysis of the FCS customs declarations for July 2016, Russia has imported4400 tons of white (refined) sugar from countries outside the Customs Union. By the end of 7 months the volume of imports to Russia amounted to 26.6 thousand tons of white sugar (in 2015 – 29.5 thousand tons; in 2014 – 76.1 thousand tons).
Russia has exported 200 tons of white sugar to countries outside the Customs Union in July 2016. By the end of 7 months the exports of white sugar from Russia amounted to 1.2 thousand tons (in 2015 – 1.4 thousand tons, in 2014 – 600 tons).
UKRAINE
Ukraine has produced 3.87 thousand tons of beet sugar as of August 29, according to "Ukrtsukor".
BELARUS
According to "Belsahar", Gorodeya sugar refinery began processing sugar beet new crop on August 25. The volume received makes about 25 thousand tons of sugar beet; the average sucrose content – 16.2%. The launch of the other three Belarus sugar plants is scheduled for September 1.
