KAZAKHSTAN

The development program "Agribusiness 2020" in Kazakhstan provides a 4.5 times increase of state support to the national agribusiness aiming to attract up to US$ 70.0 billion of private funds to the industry. From 2014 to the list of subsidized agricultural products includes the most import-dependent positions including sugar. It is planned to increase sugar beet acreage and crop production 10 times in 2015 compared to previous years.

KYRGYZSTAN

Kyrgyzstan will be permitted imports of duty-free raw cane sugar within five years following the country’s admission to the EAEC, Fedor Chernitsyn, the executive secretary of the working group on the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EAEC, has explained. The volume of duty-free raw sugar imported to Kyrgyzstan should not exceed 100 thousand tons (probably, annual quota was meant – Sugar.Ru), which, according to Chernitsyn, is 1.5 greater than the demand of Kyrgyzstan.
