RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, by April 7, 2015 in some regions of the South, the North Caucasus and the Central Federal Districts sugar beet was planted on an area of 170,700 ha or 17.4% of the forecast (in 2014 - 134,200 ha).

The Federal Customs Service reports, in January-February 2015 Russia has imported 145,100 tons of raw sugar for the total value US$ 58.5 million, which is 29.8% less than in 2014. Imports of white sugar to Russia amounted to 44,400 tons in January February 2015 (3.9 times more than in 2014) for the total value of US$ 26.4 million.

According to operational data by Soyuzrossakhar dated April 7, the Russian Federation planted 170,700 hectares (17.2% of the plan) with sugar beet (in 2014 - 151,600 ha).
UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service, the price of sugar from manufacturers rose by 9.4% in March 2015; from the beginning of the year - by 25.8%.

The acreage planted with sugar beet has reached 51 thousand hectares on April 7, which is 19% of the forecast (in 2014 the progress was 263 thousand hectares).
KAZAKHSTAN
Koksu sugar factory is scheduled to start operation in Almaty region in early October, according to the press service of regional administration. In order to perform successfully the plant should have a total supply of about one hundred thousand tons of sugar beets.

At the last ECE meeting held on April 3, 2015 it was stated that Kazakhstan currently features over 95% deficit of own raw materials for the production of sugar. According to the deputy chairman of the Russian Union of sugar producers Mr Sergey Mironov, in such circumstances the steps to promote the development of own production, including the protection of domestic producers by imposing duties
BELARUS
Belarus plans to collect 4.114 million tons of sugar beet in 2015, a spokesman from "Scientific and Practical Centre of NAS of Belarus on agriculture" has claimed. Gross yield of sugar beet in the past year amounted to 4.8 million tons, which is 10.6% more than in 2013 season.
