RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of April 13, 2020, sugar beets were sown in Russia on an area of 484.8 thousand ha, or 46.9% of the projected area (in 2019 - 260.4 thousand ha). According to operative data from the Tambov Oblast Department of Agriculture, sowing sugar beet was completed by 34 percent - 32 thousand hectares. In beet-growing farms of the Kursk region about 52 thousand ha were sown, or 58% of the plan by April 13, 2020.
