According to operational data of Soyuzrossahar dated March 31, total 174.2 thousand ha (18.2% of the forecast) of sugar beet acreage were sown in the Russian Federation (47.2 thousand ha in 2019), which is 3.7 times more than last year.

The chairman of the committee of the agro-industrial complex of the Kursk region, Ivan Muzalev, said that the farmers of the region plan to complete sowing of sugar beets by April 15.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of March 31, 2020, sowing sugar beet (factory) in certain regions of the Southern, North Caucasian and Central Federal Districts of Russia was conducted on an area of 187.2 thousand ha or 17.3% of the acreage drafted ( in 2019 - 47.2 thousand ha).
