RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of March 30, 2020, sowing of sugar beets (factory) in in Russia was carried out on an area of 155.4 thousand ha, or 14.3% of the projected (in 2019 - 18.1 thousand ha). Sowing sugar beets has started in Tambov region, where it is expected to produce over 4 million tons of sugar beets.
BELARUS
Igor Makar, who previously held the post of first deputy chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, was appointed the head of the Gorodeisk sugar factory, Belgospischeprom reports.
GEORGIA
The Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia will purchase 5,000 tons of sugar for the acquisition of reserves due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
