RUSSIA
Average consumer price for granulated sugar amounted to 46.23 rubles per 1 kg in December 2018, which is 0.92 rubles higher than a month ago, according to Rosstat.

According to the operational data of the Federal Customs Service, sugar imports from non-CIS countries amounted to 16.6 million US dollars in January 2019. At the same time, the value of sugar imports in January in annual terms (by January 2018) grew by 8.3% (FCS includes imports from foreign countries and imports of Belarusian sugar - Sugar.ru). In December 2018 Russia imported 39.1 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 12 months of 2018, the import of white sugar to the Russian Federation amounted to 315.3 thousand tons (+28.0% vs. 2017).
KAZAKHSTAN
Sugar prices from manufacturers decreased by 0.5% in Kazakhstan in January 2019 compared to the previous month, and increased by 6.0% from the beginning of the year (by January 2018), reports RK Statistics Agency.
