RUSSIA
The consumer prices for sugar decreased by 0.3% from the beginning of April 2016; from the beginning of the year –the total increase made 4.5%, according to Rosstat.

According to the data of regional price monitoring in the period from March 31 to April 04 by Sugar.ru, the US dollar exchange rate grew by 1.4% (on Mar 31 US$ 1 = RUR 67.61; on April 07 US$ 1 = RUR 68.52). Moscow ruble price of sugar decreased by RUR 0.70/kg (-1.67%); Krasnodar price decreased by RUR 0.10/kg (-0.25%), other regions have followed the slight decline. Dollar equivalent prices are decreasing as well, in Moscow the US dollar equivalent price for sugar has lost US$ 0.019/kg (-3.06%); in Krasnodar US$ 0.010/kg (-1.67%).

Russia has imported 143 thousand tons of raw sugar in January-February 2016, according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia. Import of white sugar to Russia has made 58,500 tons in January-February 2016 (the statistics of imports of white sugar FCS includes the estimated volume of import from the CU countries).
UKRAINE
Ukrainian agricultural enterprises (excluding those in the Crimea and Sevastopol) have been trading sugar at an average of UAH 11 621.8/ton without VAT in February 2016 (+61.7% compared to February 2015), according to the State Statistics Service.

Ukrainian farmers have planted 118 thousand hectares with sugar beet (or 44% of the forecast) by April 6, 2016.
BELARUS
Sugar beets sowing campaign has started in Brest region, the plan is to seed 20 thousand hectares with the culture.
