RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, as of August 29, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 70.5 thousand ha or 6.9% of the total crop acreage with 2.9 million tons collected, at average yield of 41.02 MT/ha. As of August 24 (from the beginning of the month) total volume of beet processed has made 2 030.1 thousand MT with 254 700 MT of beet sugar produced. The wholesale price of sugar grew by 4.0% this week, retail price – by 1.1%. The volume of sugar production has made 638 900 MT in January-July 2015. Volumes of import of raw sugar in January - August 2015 (as of Aug 23, 2015) are less by 6.1% than imports in the same period in 2014.

Farmers in Belgorod region have harvested 5% (3081 ha) of the sugar beet area by August 31; collected 103 000 MT including 95 600 MT of sugar beet delivered to processing facilities; the average yield makes 33.40 MT/ha.
BELARUS
Belarus has imported 116 thousand tons of sugar in the solid state (HS code 1701) in January-June 2015, which is 42% less than in 2014. The total value has made US$ 42,979,300.
