Sugar production in Tatarstan has increased compared to last year by 4.8%, as of December 5. Total volume of 235 990 tons of sugar have already been produced - 10 thousand 895 tons more than in 2018 on the same date, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan informs. Total 1 million 541.2 thousand tons of sugar beets were processed at three local sugar plants - 151.6 thousand tons or 10.9% more than a year earlier.

On December 5, the Chernyansky Sugar Plant (Rusagro) launched a line for desugaring molasses with a capacity of 74 thousand tons of sugar per year. This is the largest in Russia desugaring manufacture facilities using American technology and the third such station in Russia.
