RUSSIA
According to the operational data of Soyuzrossahar as of April 29, total 934.4 thousand hectares were sown with sugar beet in the Russian Federation (82.8% of the forecast). In 2018, on same date – 359.3 thousand hectares.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of April 29, 2019, Russia has sown 906.9 thousand hectares or 79.8% of the forecast sugar beet acreage (in 2018 - 458.8 thousand ha).
Lipetsk agrarians completed the sowing campaign with final figure of 128.4 thousand hectares, according to the regional administration.

The Board of Directors of RusAgro approved the distribution of 4.476 billion rubles as dividends for 2018, which is 35% of the profits for 2018.

The prohibition of duty-free import of sugar into the region will lead to cost increase of the finished food produced in the Kaliningrad region by 40-50% compared to enterprises located in the mainland of the Russian Federation, and to a reduction of at least 2 thousand job places in the Kaliningrad region, representatives of Kaliningrad confectionery industry claim.
BELARUS
As Sugar.Ru was informed at the Ministry of Industrial Prospects of Belarus, on April 30, 2019 Belarusian farmers sowed 94.6 thousand hectares of sugar beet, which is 99.6% of the plan (last year - 88.2 thousand hectares,%). Farmers of Belarus plan to grow sugar beet at 95.0 thousand hectares in 2019.
