RUSSIA
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, it is expected that the harvest of sugar beet in 2019 will remain at the level of last year and will be about 41 million tons, which will allow to produce about 6 million tons of sugar. The carryover stocks of sugar at the beginning of 2019 is estimated at 5.11 million tons by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The revenue of the sugar segment of the GC "Rusagro" decreased to 6.5 billion rubles in the 4th quarter of 2018 compared to the 4th quarter of 2017 (-31%) as a result of the reduction in sales volumes to 140 thousand tons of sugar (-56%), which was partially offset by an increase of the average consumer price of sugar to RUR 35.0/kg excluding VAT (+35%), as follows from the ROS report AGRO PLC.
UKRAINE
According to Ukrstat data, processed by Sugar.Ru, the production of sugar decreased over the month by 64.71% in December 2018 and has made 186545.0 MT (in previous month - 528584.0 MT, in December 2017 - 335538.0 MT). Total 1730193 MT of sugar have been produced in January-December 2018 (in January-December 2017 - 1968896 MT). The stocks of sugar increased to 798559,0 MT in December 2018 (+1.30% vs. previous month, -2.03% vs. December 2017 and -2.03% vs. December 2017).
