RUSSIA
Ryazan region has launched sugar beet sowing, it is planned to sow 7,3 thousand hectares, according to the regional Ministry of Agriculture. In Russia, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, by April 12, 2017 sugar beet was sown at an area of 354.4 thousand hectares or 31.4% of the forecast (in 2016 - 291.7 thousand hectares).

Consumer prices for sugar fell by 0.3% from April 4 to April 10, 2017; from the beginning of the year (compared to the end of December 2016) - by 9%, according to Rosstat.

According to price monitoring by Sugar.ru in the period from 06.04.2017 to 13.04.2017 the US dollar rate rose by 1.6% (on Apr 04 - 55.89 rubles/$, on Apr 13 - 56.76 rubles/$). The ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar fell by 0.30 rubles / kg (-0.87%), Krasnodar wholesale price fell by 0.10 rub/kg (-0.31%). US dollar wholesale Moscow sugar price fell by $ 0.014/kg (-2.27%), the wholesale Krasnodar price decreased by $ 0.010/kg (-1.72%).
Wholesale prices, being dictated by "Prodimex", continue to swing. On Thursday, "Prodimex" raised the price per kilogram to 32.4 rubles, and was followed by other players. If "Prodimex" would continue to follow the game, then the price should grow again tomorrow. As a result of such a strategy, demand has somewhat intensified, companies manage to sell at 33-33.3 rubles / kg, but even such prices leave much to be desired.
Export of Russian sugar continues to please. During 13 days of March, total 20.1 thousand tons of white sugar were exported by rail. However, now the main recipient is no longer Kazakhstan, but Azerbaijan, which accepted slightly over 8 thousand tons.
UKRAINE
"Buchachagrokhlebprom" has completed sowing of sugar beet at an area of 2.5 thousand hectares.

By April 11, 2017, the agroholding "Mriya" has seeded 1.2 thousand hectares with sugar beet; it is planned that the sugar beet acreage will reach 3.5 thousand hectares in the Ternopol region.

According to the State Statistics Service, in March 2017 Ukraine has produced 12.2 thousand tons of sugar confectionery (-15.86% against the previous month and -14.69% vs. March 2016). The production of sugar confectionery products amounted to 38.9 thousand tons from the beginning of the year (in 2016 - 40.3 thousand tons).
KYRGYZSTAN
According to Statkom, consumer prices for refined sugar decreased by 1.4% in March 2017, from the beginning of 2017 - by 0.3%, and in annual terms (by March 2016) - by 5.4%.
