RUSSIA

Sugar beet was sown on the area of 53 500 ha (106% of the plan) in Orel region as of May 18, 2015.

According Soyuzrossakhar data as of May 18, Russia has sown 974,100 hectares with sugar beet (97.2% of the projected area of crops). In 2014, 901,300 hectares was planted by this date.

According to the Williams agency report dated May 19, 2015, total 14 vessels were nominated in 2015 season to ship total 476,450 tons of raw cane sugar from Brazil to the sea ports in the CIS countries, Georgia and Baltic states, of which 317,350 tons from 9 vessels were unloaded, according to Sugar.Ru.

In Manturovsky district of Kursk region strong winds have completely covered the sugar beet fields with dust. Over a thousand of hectares of crops were destroyed. In Liski district of Voronezh region a strong wind and rain have damaged crops of sugar beet; most of the crops on an area of 5100 hectares have perished.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by May 18, 2015; Russia has sown sugar beet on an area of 977,800 ha or 99.8% of the forecast (in 2014 - 884,100 hectares on same day).

Farmers in Krasnodar region have completed sowing season. The region has increased the area under sugar beet by 13,000 hectares compared to 2014 season. This year the acreage has totalled 150 thousand hectares.

 

UKRAINE

The average price for white sugar from manufacturers has decreased by UAH 238.69 and has made UAH 7624.99 per ton In April 2015 (in March the average producer price was UAH 7863.68 /MT).

KAZAKHSTAN

Almaty region had allotted 1 300 hectares of land for sugar beet manufacture last season, whereas this year e crop acreage will reach 4 000 ha. By 2020 it is planned to increase the production of beet to 500 thousand tons – that will facilitate manufacture of 50 thousand tons of refined sugar.
