RUSSIA

According to operational data from local agricultural management of Russia dated May 12, 2015, Russian farmers have seeded sugar beet on an area of 928,600 ha or 94.7% of the forecast (in 2014 season the progress was 855,600 hectares).

According Soyuzrossakhar, 928,900 hectares of sugar beet was sown in Russian Federation by May 12 (or 92.7% of projected crop acreage). In 2014, on this date 855,700 hectares were planted with sugar beet.

 

KAZAKHSTAN

In March 2015 the prices for imported sugar have dropped by 7.9% in Kazakhstan, the National Statistics Agency reports.

UKRAINE

Agricultural holding "Astarta" has published a report for the first quarter 2015. Sales of "sugar" segment have decreased by 41% and brought € 23 million (41% of consolidated revenue). Such correction is driven by the decrease in sales volumes and prices. Sugar exports amounted to 5 000 MT (7% of sales for the period).

Ukraine has planted 236 thousand hectares with sugar beet by May 12, 2015, or 99.7% of the forecast (in 2014 the acreage sown by same day was 325 thousand ha), reports the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
