According to Rosstat, the consumer prices for sugar in Russia decreased by 2.9% in April 2015; from the beginning of the year the growth of consumer prices for sugar in the country has made total 13.9%.

According to price monitoring by sugar.ru in the period from Apr 30 to May 07, 2015, the dollar exchange rate has dropped by 3.4% (on Apr 30: US$1 = RUR 51.70; on May 07 US$1 = RUR 49.98).

Moscow RUR price of sugar rose by RUR 0.30/kg (+ 0.73%); in Krasnodar price has not changed, remaining at the level of RUR 39.80/kg. In Moscow the US dollar equivalent price of sugar rose by US$ 0.033/kg (+ 4.13%), in Krasnodar price grew less – by US$ 0.026/kg (+ 3.38%).

KAZAKHSTAN
According to the Customs Control Committee of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan imported 28 thousand tons of sugar in the solid state (HS code 1701) in January-March 2015, which is 43.4% less than in January-March 2014. The total value has made US$ 16.688 million.
UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices for sugar have dropped by 7.2% in April 2015; from the beginning of the year the total increase has made 44.1%.

According to the Department of Agricultural Development of Kharkov region, the area of sugar beet sown by May 6 in the region has made 15,200 hectares, which is 101% of the plan.

Vinnitsa region has reduced the sugar beet crops by 10%. In 2015, the area under beet will occupy 54 thousand hectares against 60,000 hectares last season. Today, the region has already planted 52 thousand ha with sugar beet, or 96% of the plan. In general, Ukraine plans to reduce the sugar beet acreage by 30%, from 330,000 hectares in 2014 to 230,000 hectares in 2015.
